Our phenomenal story began with the 10-cent sale of a then unnamed product on August 4, 1938, in Kankakee, Illinois. A father and son partnership in Green River, Illinois, had been experimenting with a soft frozen dairy product for some time. They contacted Sherb Noble, a good friend and customer, who agreed to run the "all you can eat" trial sale at his walk-in ice cream store. Within two hours, he dished out more than 1,600 servings of the new dessert. Back then, food franchising was all but unheard of, but the new product's potential made it a natural for such a system. When the United States entered World War II in December 1941, there were fewer than 10 Dairy Queen® stores. However, shortly after the war, the system took off at a pace virtually unrivaled before or since.

With only 100 stores in 1947, it grew to 1,446 in 1950 and then to 2,600 in 1955. Today, the DQ® system is one of the largest fast food systems in the world, with more than 6,000 restaurants in the United States, Canada and 18 other countries. Although much has changed in the world and in the DQ® system through the years, one constant has remained: DQ® restaurants are still, and always have been, the place to find kids' sports teams celebrating a victory, business people on their lunch break and families taking time out to enjoy great food and soft serve treats. And success for the DQ® system is as simple today as it was in 1940. Satisfied customers lead to successful restaurants. Each owner of our independently owned and operated establishments worldwide is committed to nothing less than the "Fan Food not Fast FoodTM" slogan.

Minor Food opened the first Dairy Queen in Thailand in 1996. Dairy Queen is famous for their soft-serve ice cream distributed through kiosks in shopping malls and modern trade outlets throughout Thailand. Minor Food started to franchise the Dairy Queen brand in Thailand in 2011.

Job Description

Job Purpose:

To support financial controller and team decision by providing useful financial analysis information on timely and accurate manner.  Has direct responsible for financial department in term of:

Inventory ordering from Linfox to stores according to inventory ordering schedule for each store to ensure that all stores have inventory for sales.

Leading and guide to ensure the daily operation and closing reflect the correct performance and in line with accounting policy

Main Responsibilities:

1.      Business Financial Management

·         Give and seek advice to improve financial returns.  Direct deal with financial controller to support the brand decision based on analytical of timely and accurate financial information and make recommendation for further improvement

·         Monitor and control business performance by comparison of actual results versus budget on a continuous basis and propose for area improvement

·         Support financial controller on gross margin analysis for new product and discount/promotion offering

2.        Inventory Ordering Management

·         Leading and responsible of all DQ inventory ordering system to ensure that all stores have inventory for sales

·         Update daily sales target into DQ ordering system according to latest sales trend and monthly sales target provided by area coaches and operation managers

·         Review and update product mix for each store in DQ ordering system on monthly basis

·         Monitor and control COGS by preparing weekly COG report detailed by store and performing variance analysis (vs. ideal and budget)

3.      Management Reporting

·         To take full responsibility for timely, accurate, and appropriate management information, including preparation of a monthly management financial report. To ensure reporting procedures are clearly defined and updated to reflect the business needs currently and in the future.  To take part in regular reviews with the operational management Team. 

·         Ensure monthly COGS and Inventory ending balance are completely and correctly presented in a monthly management the financial report. Including variance analysis in comparison with ideal and budget

4.      Budgeting Process

·         To support financial controller in preparation of annual budget, which will involve in reviewing of future business plans to develop the budget.

5.      Financial Planning

·         To support financial controller by providing analysis r financial planning e.g. loss management from loss to break-even and profit, allocation of resources among various projects, renovation generate more returns, etc.

6.      Management Information Systems

·         Monitor and control that the data in Business Intelligence (BI) system is correctly presented and support business on BI ad hoc report.

·         To take an active and constructive part in the selection and implementation of financial and operational systems.

7.      Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors

Qualification

Job Specifications:

·         At least Bachelor’s Degree in accounting / finance (Master’s Degree is a plus)

·         CPA and audit background from Big4 are preferred

·         At least 5-7 years in accounting / financial role, with 1 years in management level, with experience in food service or retail industry would be advantage

·         Excellence in English communication and computer literacy  

·         Willing to learn on ordering system for restaurant management

·         In-depth ability of analytical skills, strong communication and presentation skills

·         Ability to work under pressure
