Job Description

Job Purpose:

  • Head of Strategy and Operations is responsible for setting and executing the business growth strategy for Digital. As a key member of the management team, reporting into the Chief Digital Officer, he/she will partner with the country and brand teams and will pro-actively engage with businesses and control/support functions, in order to help define and deliver the digital agenda. 


Main Duties:

  • Develop and implement an optimal / agile organizational framework 
  • Work with stakeholders to align objectives and operations across country, brands and group functions
  • Partner with the Products team to advise on the development of new products or to enhance current products to suit digital channels and meet customer needs
  • Continually push forward the broader organizational agenda of ‘digitizing’ Minor group 
  • Inspire, lead and develop others to create a culture of digital curiosity 
  • Work with the customer insights and marketing leads to increase customer engagement across digital channels
  • Assess competitor best practices and industry trends, in order to drive innovation and leverage Minor’s unique competitive advantages (data; client connectivity across verticals; in-house product management capabilities; etc.)
  • Assist with digital product development and optimisation to ensure customer experience is simple and easy across all digital channels. Provide frontline staff with digital tools to make sales and servicing discussions easier  
  • Liaise with CRM, Analytics and Marketing to create customer profiles and to test prototypes; drive traffic to digital tools and journeys, promote digital usage, increase digital activation; and reach the right customers with the right offers
  • The role holder will act as an executive sponsor for the digital strategy, capability and functionality development
  • The role holder will also be responsible for championing the executive approval of projects that deliver the proposition
  • Recruit and nurture top talent, networks and partners – identifying and building relationships with candidates for key open positions and future positions created by growth

  • Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned

  • Drive the digital growth agenda, with projects delivered on time and within allocated budget
  • Enhance customer experience by adding new capabilities, in partnership with Group Marketing, CRM, Analytics, Proposition, Multichannel, and other key stakeholders.
  • Drive competitive assessments: research new technologies and services, assess competitors/new entrants, review relevant regulations

  • Build strong relationships, by adopting a collaborative approach to execute change at increased speed, with minimum conflict
  • Contribute to improved end-to-end customer experience for Digital channels and products within the Minor group portfolio

Operational Effectiveness and Control

  • Set up digital operating model and governance forums to ensure investment is delivering sustainable value
  • Regular review to identify key risks, issues and interdependencies. Determine and apply appropriate mitigation strategies
  • Ensure that equal and balanced focus is maintained on operational and regulatory risks and ensure the Virtual Management Team identifies and mitigates these in a manner that protects the brands
  • Ensure regular and positive engagement with key support functions such as Risk, Marketing and HR
     

Qualification

  •  Bachelor/Master in Business/Economics, Finance, Marketing, Strategy, Engineering, Comp Science, IT or equivalent
  • A minimum of 10 years in a strategy and planning, business or proposition development role
